Costco Aftermath

You know those people at the exit who check your cart against the receipt? What a bullish*t job. They did not notice they double charged me for toilet paper.

Brrrrr

Our house is so cold! I just turned on the heater :/. It can get drafty in here and we should really winterize our windows.

Housebound

We are finally getting work on the basement done. We are repainting everything, converting Danny's old room into a playroom, installing more recessed lighting, and installing a mini bar. I will post pictures once everything is settled! In the meantime, I can't really leave the house. So far, it's ok but I know I'll be going a little stir-crazy come Thursday or so.

Our ex-roomie OGDM is in Japan right now with his company iRobot. I'm so proud of him! The devastation is enormous and every little bit we can do to help makes an impact. I hate the news these days. Japan, Libya...

Olivia is doing great! I haven't really been updating this blog because I'm always posting new pictures of her on my tumblr account. My parents also both got iPhones so they are constantly texting me for new pictures of what she's doing at the moment. It was really frustrating trying to teach them how to use the phones via Skype. But I think they have the hang of it now. Some of their messages are kind of cryptic. For instance, I got a, "How is my sweaty doing today?" I'm pretty sure he meant me, his sweetie. Or Olivia, his main squeeze?

I don't think she will be walking anytime soon. She just is not too interested in standing on her own. She can cruise and she likes to climb on stuff, but walking on her own is kind of out of the question. Mr. Ho says he likes that she is somewhat immobile because it'll get 10x harder once she's on the move. But I'm eager to see her toddle around. I think it will just be so cute! I should buy her some shoes.

Weaning is..going, I guess. I've been dropping 5 minutes from my pumping sessions every 4 days. Right now, I'm at 5 minutes in the morning, 15 minute in the evening. I have noticed a huge decrease in my supply. Luckily, Olivia is doing ok on cow's milk so I mix whatever I pump with that. You will also find cabbage leaves poking out of my shirt these days because it helps with engorgement. I can't wait till this shiznit is over with. I am definitely going to treat myself to something after it is over with. Maybe a new pair of shoes? Mommy needs a new pair of shoes!

I'm going to doze a bit until the contractor gets here. He comes later and later every morning. Sheesh.

10 Days Late

No, not what you think. I told myself I'd start weaning from the pump one month before Olivias birthday. And I haven't started. I even had it in my planner: "Feb 1: WEANING!!!!"

I can't bring myself to do it. Why? I feel an enormous amount of guilt. I guess it's that mommy guilt rearing it's ugly head. She does so well on breastmilk. What if cows milk just doesn't do her any good? What if she hates it? Breastmilk provides all these antibodies. Should I just keep going until flu season is over at least?

We got a new dishwasher so washing bottles and pump parts has become a thing of the past. Our awesome Samsung dishwasher sanitizes and it is really just amazing. But weaning would free up so much of my time. Sigh. I know I gotta start soon.

I had a dream last night I had another baby girl. And I've been thinking all day about having another baby. After Olivia was born, I told myself I would NEVER do it again. But I miss that newborn-ness. I feel like I was so delirious from the labor and the c section that I didn't get to really enjoy it. This time, it's an automatic c section so it might be easier? Idk. I would like Olivia to be walking and out of diapers first. Mr. Ho wants a Dragon. Olivia is a special tiger - a white tiger and apparently this upcoming dragon is special too. But the tiger and the dragon won't get along because they will both be so fierce.

I'm getting way ahead of myself.

Olivia can clap on cue now. It's adorable!! I love when she Gives me love. She rubs her face all over mine. Or I love When she takes a break from playing and will crawl over to rest her head on me. She also starts "singing" along when she she's really in the mood.

Excuse the typos. I'm on my phone. Gnite!!

All Done

One of my favorite feelings in the world - crossing off everything off of my to-do list and my honey-do list! We got a lot accomplished this weekend. Here's a rundown:

-Doing laundry and cleaning the house
-Calling invites for Olivia's dol (those who don't have email)
-Returning things at the mall and buying some things for Olivia's photoshoot
-Stopping by the dduk store to inquire about the dol cake
-Grocery shopping
-Making another batch of food for Olivia's. She's venturing into cheeses and spinach this week
-Ordering the wet bar items for the basement

And my most favorite item of all - going to Best Buy to buy a new DISHWASHER!!!! WOOOOOTTTTT!!!! This baby is all stainless steel - inside and out. The best feature is that it has a "sanitize" feature so I can just throw everything of Olivia's in there instead of handwashing. Anything that saves me time and my poor chapped hands is a God-send!

Miss Olivia is doing well! She is babbling so much more. Everything is "ma" or "umma." I swear she also says, "done" and "bbul" which is light in korean. I think she also says "mung mung" which is puppy in korean. She is getting good at waving goodbye, pointing. She loves to run around the island in her walker. She's getting pretty good at going up the stairs but she's not standing on her own or walking though. Everyone always asks me that. It's funny - some strangers she really loves and others she really detests. For instance, she didn't really warm up to Mr. Ho's cousin, Andy, all that much. But she fell in LURVE with the owner of the hanbok store and the waitresses at the sushi restaurant. Hmm... I think she likes old asian people. Lol. She will have serious staredowns with asian men. We were waiting in line at H&M and there was a korean man behind us and she would not stop staring. Maybe it reminds her of her daddy. Who knows. She's a funny girl.

Oh, I bought Olivia a new hanbok. I don't know when I'll get the other one so I hope the lady will issue me a refund *crossing fingers*

Going to be early tonight because I have to stay up a bit late tomorrow. Toodles!

Project Panic

What the HECK have I been doing??!!!

Olivia's dol is coming up way too quickly. I am having a mild panic attack. I came up with a quick checklist tonight and that list is a bit overwhelming now. I'm debating whether I should blog about the planning or just shock and awe you on that day.

Maybe I am going a bit overboard with this but it's her DOL! And it's her GOLDEN birthday! And that only comes ONCE in your life. Oh my sweet little baby. I wonder if I'm going to cry during this occasion. I already get teary-eyed when I look at her newborn pictures...

Or maybe I should take Mr. Ho's advice and just relax and keep it simple. She is only one year old, for goodness sake... We'll see how much I can get done between now and the party.

I'm feeling much better, btw. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me some meds. The aches went away but the meds made me really nauseous and gave me a horrible headache. Luckily, that cleared up today. I was able to go get my hair done with Leah. I haven't seen her in over a year. I missed her! She is the only one I trust with this head. I hope she never leaves this area.

My doll of a husband has done the morning shift the past three days and that has helped me so much. I haven't gotten this much sleep since pre-baby! 1030-7/8ish. I don't know if it's the meds or what but I have dreamt about the Kardashians the past two nights. I hope I do it again tonight. Fun dreams.

Did I mention Olivia has 3 teeth coming in? It is just the cutest thing. She is trying to master pulling herself up and such. I think she could do all these things a lot quicker but we seem to hold her a lot. And so do her grandparents. She needs more floor time - note to self.

I know, I talk about Olivia A LOT. But she is my entire world right now. These are the projects that will be overtaking my life/blog for awhile:

-DOL
-Basement

Ok, just two projects but BIG ones.

Stuffed like a Turkey

That's how I feel at the end of each day. I just eat and eat. Even though I feel full, I can't stop, won't stop. Everything just tastes SO GOOD! Don't send the pregnant lady to go get food, because she'll come back with all sorts of stuff. Remember the Disney Popsicles I was craving? I found a great substitute - Wegman's Ice Pops. They have such a great old school Popsicle flavor. What else do I eat a lot of? Fruit in a can, refrigerated, Pirate's Booty, tomato soup and goldfish and grilled cheese. And lots of sweets.

The house looks fantastic. The wood floors complement the new sofa so nicely. I hung up our Christmas stockings already and Mr. Ho put up the Christmas tree this past Sunday. Olivia's paint color looks AMAZING. It's called Shabby Chic and it really is the color I was envisioning in my head. I love it. And her chandelier just adds the perfect romantic touch to the room. I'm going to go order her furniture when my mom is in town next week.

Going in for my monthly check-up tomorrow with SIL. Yes, SIL is in town for a couple of weeks. I can't wait to see Olivia. Her movements are so much stronger. When I'm sitting down, I can see my belly move. It's insane!

Home Improvement

Today, we had new floors installed in our tv room. Is it the family room or the living room? Because I never know the difference. Anyway, the room next to the kitchen. We are getting a new sectional on Wednesday. I can't tell you how freaken EXCITED I am!! This is something I've wanted to do since I moved in. It just makes this place feel more and more like MINE! We are also having Olivia's room painted this week. BFFF bought her a chandelier so that will be going up this week as well. I'll put up pictures once all her furniture is in. I'm soo sooooooo excited!

Pregnancy is good so far. The belly is growing everyday. I think I've put on a total of 13 pounds so far! I think it's mostly in my stomach, at least I hope. I still haven't bought once piece of maternity clothing. I received a shirt as a gift, oh and some jeggings from BFFF but I have yet to wear them. I think I need to get with it and buy some pants or something because I wear the same $4.50 Forever 21 leggings everytime I go out. :) I bought some tights the other day and had to cut the tops off because it hugged my belly too tight. I didn't want to buy maternity tights. Haha.

This baby is so funny. She goes nuts and kicks me a lot when I haven't eaten in awhile. It's like she's either reminding me or telling me she's hungry! Pretty bossy already. I really love feeling her kicks though. Did I mention that's my favorite part so far??

SIL is coming into town today for a few weeks. I'm excited about that. And I'm definitely excited about my baby shower!!

Ok, going to go eat some more.
Toodles!

Just Call Me Danny Tanner

There was the utmost rancid smell coming from our old fridge.  I chucked everything I thought could be the culprit.  Mr. Ho and I thought it might be one of his stinky cheeses, but nope.  I made Mr. Ho go through the freezer too and he found a rotting piece of meat.  The compartment above the defunct ice-maker was completely warm.  Everything in that area was warm!  The rest of the freezer was cold but not icy cold.  I don't know why I did it, but when Mr. Ho took the meat out for me to inspect, I took the biggest whiff and dry heaved almost to death.  So gross.

So we bought a new fridge!  I love it.  It is so spacious, not to mention clean, fresh, and an energy-saver!  I am a water snob and this water is totally drinkable so we'll be getting rid of the Deer Park cooler.  The plastic is going to stay on there for a little bit.  Just so I can relish in it's newness.

I never thought new kitchen appliances would make me so happy!  Maybe I'm more excited to cross this off our house to-do list.

Whenever I go nuts cleaning or do anything house related, I always think of Danny Tanner - Bob Saget's character on Full House.  Remember the episode where they bust Danny for vacuuming the vacuum cleaner?  I do that.

PS.  Watching Sleepers right now.  Never saw it before.  Love it!

My Crystal Ball

So train-wreck Lily Allen decided to make her own Chanel t-shirt out of a Hanes.

I'd like to make a prediction right now.  I think Karl Lagerfeld is going to make a replica of this t-shirt and charge $150 for it.

Today was an emotional roller coaster.  We got new bedroom furniture (amazing).  But the two old, fat delivery-men could not lift the dresser up the stairs.  So Mr. Ho, the brother, and two of our friends did it.  They did a great job, but man oh man, I was so anxious the entire time.  I kept envisioning that huge dresser falling back and crushing someone.  I said a quick prayer before they started.  And once the job was done, I realized my armpits were sweating.  I know that's disgusting, but I was amazed I was even sweating - I rarely sweat.  I was so nervous my sweat glands felt it.

Sweet dreams, readers.  I'm going to la-la land in my new bed!
