Don't Wink at me. I came to the realization that winking makes me so uncomfortable.

Knee Pain
My right knee hurts. I've never injured it. But it occasionally hurts. Is it because it's raining? Am I going to be one of those old women who will say, "it's going to rain. I can feel it in my knee." Dreadful!

Unsolicited Advice
I hate when people offer unsolicited advice. Especially when it comes to my own child.
But I know I am so guilty of it too. So, I apologize if I ever annoy you with my wisdom. I swear, it's coming from a good place. I just want to help.
While I'm on the topic, here's some right now!
Don't touch other people's children. If it's a close friend's or family member's, at least let it be known you washed your hands (with water AND soap). It makes me so mad when strangers rub their nasty, dirty hands on my daughter's face. arms, legs, hands. I don't know where your hands have been all day.
The end.

Money, Honey
They say 50% of marriages end in divorce. And the most popular reason is due to money. Before I got married, I thought that was crazy! Why would anyone fight over money? Once you get married, everything is equal. Everything is split down the middle. There is no "mine." Only "ours."
Oh, how young and stupid I was!
Mr. Ho and I rarely argue. When we do, it's usually over the same things:
1. Me nagging him to do stuff around the house
2. Money
The first is pretty obvious. I like the house a certain way. I like things to be put away and not just hidden behind closet doors or drawers. I like things neat, tidy, organized. My friends in high school used to call my mom the Vacuum Lady. I have adopted that moniker and I own it. While I don't vacuum anymore (Mr. Ho does it), I still want it to be done often. We have a shedding monster for a dog and now a little one who is rolling all around it *dies*. I think the man should do the vacuuming, taking out the trash/recycling, and the landscaping. And any other unpleasantries like unclogging the toilet.
I don't have a 9-5 so I do not experience the awful commutes or the terrible bosses. But I've had a job since I was 13-27. I know what it's like to work. And guess what? I now work A LOT more than I used to. I don't have the luxury of a lunch break or talking to my co-workers about nonsense. Not only do I wake up earlier than I used to, I go to bed later. I am on my feet all day long. I am feeding, cleaning, entertaining, and soothing a baby. And on top of that, cooking her meals and our dinner. I also clean the house, run errands, and make sure this house is under control. I know, it sounds fluffy and it sounds easy. But it's not. It's NEVER ENDING. There is always SOMETHING to do. Something that could be washed, polished, folded, put away, scrubbed. When I'm doing dishes, I'm thinking about the bottles I have to clean next. After bottles, it's the kitchen that needs to be tided. After the kitchen, it's the floor that needs swiffering. After the floor, it's the playmat that needs wiping. After the playmat, it's sorting the laundry. Get it? Yeah, I know I'm technically resting by blogging right now, but that's besides the point.
That's why I have to give it up to all the ladies who have a job AND have children. STADIUM STATUS!!!
I'm blessed. Blessed to have a husband who makes a living good enough so I can stay home and raise my child. So as much complaining as I do, I have to remind myself that my situation is a gift. But that doesn't mean I don't want some credit, too!
Which leads me to the next point: MONEY.
Money really is evil. It really is power.
It really is a lot easier to spend money when you're not the one earning it. You don't have the same instinct to guard it because you didn't bust your balls for it. I respect and love my husband for working hard to bring the dough. But sometimes I think because he works for it, it wields a certain level of power. He says I am imagining things and I can spend it in any way I want. And I know I have that choice, but seriously? Could I really just go and buy all the shoes, bags, clothes, jewelry that I want? NO. I don't call Mr. Ho everytime I swipe that debit card. But I still feel the need to discuss or tell him if I'm going to purchase something that is specifically for my enjoyment. I guess in the end, I just have this nagging sense of guilt.
We've come to a temporary solution. We have opened a separate bank account just for me. We discuss what expenses I will incur over the month and we transfer the appropriate funds. This way, I will take note of what and when I spend. And if I do want to make a big purchase, then I can save for it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Call it what it is. It's basically an allowance. But for some reason, this "allowance" makes me feel a lot better.
Let's face it. As much as society has advanced, men and women are still not 100% equal. There are still certain stigmas and prejudices we have to overcome. So if I had to give advice to my single ladies and my daughter, it would be to save your money. When you get married, keep an account (however small) for yourself. As long as you are open and honest about it being there, there shouldn't be a problem. It's just nice to not only have something for yourself, but to have the peace of mind of knowing that you hold a bit of financial power as well.
Don't get me wrong. I'm confident in my marriage and my husband. This is just something that I sometimes think of when I know I'm going to be spending a lot of money. HAHA!

Perfect Timing
Dear Swine Flu aka H1N1 -
Please don't ruin our lives. You are pissing me off. People look ridiculous in those masks. You couldn't have waited till, I don't know, AUGUST or something to come around?
Please don't cancel our trip to Hong Kong/Beijing. Don't cut short my parent's trip in South America.
If I have to quarantine myself because of you, I will boycott pork FOREVER.
Love,
Mrs. Ho

WHAT?!
This is a bracelet you wear when you are on your period. Yes, look closely. That's a tampon that resembles the letter "P."
Who the EFF thinks of these things? Must be a man. Ladies, if you ever get this as a gift, throw it back in their face.
I'd hate to be that model.

Slang
You know what I really hate? The term, grown & sexy. Where did it come from anyway?
Urban dictionary defines it as, "a term used to describe people who have reached a point in their lives where playing games and immaturity is behind them and they have grown up and are ready to take on bigger and better things."
Really? Because to me, it just sounds like an excuse to sound better than you really are. It sounds skeezy.
If this phrase ever comes out of my mouth, feel free to smack me upside the head.

Night Assessments
I can't do it anymore. There is absolutely no way I can go out two nights in a row. We went out Friday for Jim's Dirty 30 and again on Saturday for Alain's 29th.
I definitely had more fun on Friday - SIL, her friend Jenny and I checked out a new place called The Gibson - this unmarked bar with really great drinks and the most amazing cheese + meat platter, but with the strangest crowd. Afterwards, we went to Shadow Room to meet up with Mr. Ho and friends. And wow, the dancing was non-stop. What I noticed:
1. Desperation looks good on no one. When a girl walks away from you numerous times, get the hint. It's not going to work.
2. Even if you are a horrible dancer, if you exude energy and good spirits, it's a party to be had.
3. Cops can be nice people. Especially cops named Walter.
I was absolutely tired on Saturday, but I geared up for the night's festivities. We went to Policy, a new restaurant/lounge, where one of Mr. Ho's co-workers is an investor. This is definitely more my scene - great music, delicious food + drinks, and a more mature crowd. Unfortunately, the boys wanted a change in venue so we went to K Street. My observations for the evening:
1. Clear bra straps are an oxymoron. They are not INVISIBLE, people! I absolutely abhor these things, and friends, I will let you know you shouldn't be wearing them. There are these things called strapless bras - invest in them.
2. Brussels sprouts are so yummy.
3. Men shouldn't wear white linen pants whilst clubbing.
Today, we had our 4th Book Club meeting. I really love these gatherings. Everyone always brings great dishes and we chow down. We discuss the book for about 30 minutes and then we talk about anything and everything. A few discussions we had today:
1. Epidurals/water births/kegel exercises
2. Bed bugs/allergies/lice
3. Weddings/photograher drama/albums
Rocky is spending the night at Daid's house to see if him and Wilson get along ok. That way, he can stay with them rather than stay alone while we are on vacation. Mr. Ho and I are in major withdrawal right now. The house is so quiet without his snoring, barking, and whining. We miss him already, but I know he is in good hands.
How crazy is this weather? 90 degrees already? Where did spring go? I am in denial and refuse to turn on the air conditioning in the car. I was very sweaty afterwards.
Oh! Before I go, you should definitely watch Tell No One, a french thriller. It's really good. So good they are going to make an American edition of it. Did you know Beyonce's new movie, Obsessed, was #1 this weekend at the box office? Who woulda thought?
And what about this swine flu? So scary.
Clearly, I have too many things going through my mind. Necesito dormir. Buenas noches!

Put an L on Your Forehead
If you are wearing Timberlands at the gym... Or wearing distressed jeans with a tank top while lifting weights...
Yes, that's right.
I am laughing at YOU! Loser.

Inform Me
Do I have a sign somewhere on my body that says, "Feel Free to Fart Near Me?"
It happened again!
This time at the gym. A little more understandable because you exert a lot of energy and maybe it slipped out. This time, some old man who was stretching, let one out.
And then he kept staring at me, probably to see if I noticed.
Yes, old man. I NOTICED. I felt like I ate it. It was disgusting.

Common Courtesy
If you are standing in line, with people waiting behind you, there's something you should never do. NEVER fart.
I'm standing in line at the Costco register, and this chick moves up to the cashier. I take her place and put my items on the conveyer belt. I merely breathe and intake the stankiest smell ever.
Grimacing, I stare at the chick and she's just smirking.
It's one thing when you let one out in public, but into open space. Not within close proximity to people with their olfactory senses in tact.
Jerk.

Say What?
One of my biggest pet peeves is when random people come up to me and say something in the language they believe I speak.
Example 1: We're at a bar and some random kid obnoxiously yells in my face, Ahn-nyung ha sae yo! Meaning hello in Korean. Yeah, he's middle eastern so I'm sure his Korean consists of this one greeting and maybe kimchee. Seriously, how do you want me to act? Super flattered that you took the time to pick-up something at the Korean BBQ restaurant? Next time, I'm going to plaster a big goofy grin on my face and curse your ass out in Korean. Joke's on you sucka!
Example 2: We are waiting in line and this frat boy shouts at my husband Konichiwa, which is hello in Japanese. I'm grimacing because this boy has no idea who he's just irritated. Mr. Ho slowly walks towards him and asks again What did you say? And frat boy nervously replies You're Japanese so I said hello. I studied abroad there. Luckily, Mr. Ho retained his cool and just walked away. If it were another day, another place, frat boy wouldn't have been so lucky. What an idiot. Mr. Ho is so not Japanese. There is no one I know who looks more Chinese than my husband. Although, I did think he was Korean when I first met him because he was always around Koreans and frequented Korean clubs. That's a different story.
Example 3: One day during recess, this kid said to me Chinese. Japanese. Dirty Knees. Look at these! I told my teacher and he got a referral and a suspension. What does that crap mean anyway?
Moral of the story, don't be an asshole.

Annoyed At Idiots!
What part of:
DANIEL'S 24TH SURPRISE BIRTHDAY GET TOGETHER!! KEEP IT ON THE HUSH HUSH!!
do you NOT understand??
Especially when you responded to the Evite you couldn't make it already? What made you feel the need to go up to Danny four days later and tell him that you couldn't make it tonight? Did you do this crap on purpose because no one would ever want to throw you a party??
YOU ARE AN IDIOT.
This is what I would say to the person who blew my brother's FIRST EVER surprise party. If he shows up tonight, and if I've been drinking Patron - Patron makes me belligerent - he will SO hear it. But who knows, it takes a lot for me to confront someone, but at least I have my blog to have imaginary bitch sessions!
BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Baby Brother + EJenks!
