Away

I haven't had much to blog these days. I swear, a sick baby - no matter how minor - changes the day to day routine. But we are back on track, I think.

My mom is here! So it's been all about keeping her occupied. I'll have more to say in a week or so.

Heres 2 picture to hold you over until I get my mojo back.

Genius

How many moms look at their kids scribbles and think, "My kid is the next Jackson Pollack."

I did. And then I thought I of her at her own art gallery opening. During her welcome speech she would thank her mother, the one who always encouraged her to follow her heart.

The end.

How much will I regret eating this?

Records

O is sick again! Started Saturday night. Runny nose, cough, sneezing, sounding phlegmy.

I can't remember when she was sick last but I'll just do a blog search bc I'm sure I complained about it.

Poor bebe :(.

Birthday Roundup

My actual birthday started with a nice sleep and roses from husband and baby.

Mr. Ho and I had 8:45 dinner reservations at Komi in DC. This place has been rated one of the best in the city so I was excited to see if it lived up to the hype.

Zara top and bottom. YSL Tributes. I don't know why I keep doing this pose. I call it the arm cramp pose.

There is no menu that you choose from. Its a prix fixed menu - 14 courses, to be exact. I chose to do the wine pairing as well. You can't take any food pictures but Mr. Ho and I had some time in between courses for a few self portraits.

I didn't eat all day so I came HUNGRY. The first few courses were teeny tiny but with the first bite, it was DELICIOUS. Everything. Was. Delicious. It was a very organic experience. The server was super enthusiastic but not overbearing. I'm not foodie so my words won't do it any justice. Let's just say, it was definitely worth the price and I would do it again just to see what they whip up in the kitchen.

I'll be back, Komi. At this angle, I look like a barbarian. A chic one, though :)

Here's a picture of my little girl and I with a birthday cake from the in-laws.

I really thought this birthday would pass by like any other day. But it really got to me. I'm 30, people. THIRTY. Where did all this time go? All the thoughts that ran through my head - scary. Let's just say that this damn birthday really made me think and reflect on my life. But at the end of the day...

Sent me flowers :). Gerber daisies always remind me of her.

Flowers

Mr. Ho took Olivia to Whole Foods so she could buy me flowers. These are the ones she picked out and wouldn't let go.

Ah

Even she can't believe I'm 30.

Lines

I have been on the hunt for the perfect eyeliner.

I first tried the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner ($20). It worked well, but it kept getting those loose threads. I didn't really have control either, but the waterproof part was very true. The second one I've tried is the Lancome ARTLINER ($29). The control is easier with this one, but it flaked way too easily for a $30 product.

So, I decided to venture into a gel liner and went with Mac Fluidline ($15). I LOVE IT. I think it's the brush too - MAC 266 ($19.50). It is very precise and so easy to work with. The only thing I wish was different, is that I wish the color was as rich as a liquid liner. That's all.
Next time, I think I'll try the Laura Mercier Tightline Cakeliner ($22).

Experimentation in beauty continues...
