We're Back!

Home Sweet Home.

We missed home. But now I am overwhelmed with things to do. I'll update again when I don't feel so frazzled.

Happy Memorial Day!

Cali

Wow I've been terrible about updating. We are in laguna and have been here since Monday. Nothing too crazy. Shopping, eating, visiting family. It's so much colder than I thought it would be. I brought all summer clothes and so I've been wearing the same thing every day. I'm bummed bc I can't parade Olivia in her teeny bikini.

Olivia is doing ok. She hasn't been sleeping well. And doesn't have much of an appetite but I think it's because she might be teething? She actually has a bit of a cough.

Needless to say, her condition stresses me out so I'm not 100% relaxed.

I dont miss Fairfax and the daily routine but I do miss the comforts of home - all of olivias things, my car, my bed. I wish i could bring home with me on vaca.

I hope you are all well! Glad it wasn't the rapture.

Hi from MS

Hello Party People!
Sorry I haven't been blogging. My parents are existing on ethernet and refuse to upgrade to wifi. And the 3G network is slow as molasses here. So it's been hella annoying trying to blog. I tried to blog a Mother's Day entry but that didn't work. Hope all my mommy friends had a wonderful Mother's Day <3

Things here have been GREAT. I love it so much. I don't cook or clean. No laundry. And I get to sleep as soon as Olivia wakes because the parents want to play with her. It has been heaven. I really needed this break. Since Olivia did so well on the plane ride, it encourages me to come here more often. I am already getting sad about parting with the parentals in 2 weeks. I'm really going to miss the sleep fo sho.

We are leaving for Cali on Monday. Danny got into town yesterday so he could attend his fiance's graduation from Ole Miss today.

You know what's true about Southern folks? They really do have great manners. And they are groomed really well.

Um. I don't have that many stories. I've just been at the house or at my parent's store. Or shopping with my mom. It's been a very pleasent trip.

I hope everyone is doing well! I'll try to update more in Cali. We have wifi at the beach house. Hallelujah!!

We made it

What a crazy day. I'm blogging from the phone so I'll do quick bullet points.

-both Mr. Ho and I were on edge all morning getting ready. Olivias still congested. She didn't poop in the morning (I was so scared of a poopy diaper on the plane! But luckily she pooped before we left.). I had a million things to do before we left!!

-the car ride to the airport was a shit show. Traffic. Olivia throws up all over herself. I'm car sick and even more nauseous from the smell of her vomit. I'm dry heaving into a zip lock bag. We pull over a mile from BWI and I puke. Great

-luckily the plane was super empty so we got a whole row! Olivia did great! A little fussing at take off and landing but we played with stickers, read books, ate food, and watched cartoons.

-and now I'm laying next to her on my parents bed which was moved to the floor for us. I'm scared she will roll off.

But I'm going to go to bed . Like I said, today was a shit show. Started with poop (me worried she didn't take a morning poop) and ended with shit. Why? Because She pooped before bath and I'm checking her diaper and somehow her hairbow falls directly into the poop.

Bbye favorite hair bow. What a way to go.

Stack it Up

Whenever I wear stuff on my wrists, my mother never fails to mention how I used to stack jelly bracelets up to my elbow and how I refused to take them off.

Anyway, I think I want to do a stacked bracelet look. Not soo matchy matchy as the following photos, but something of the sort. I'm going to work on this and get back to you.

Another Transformation

Reader azusa commented:

this reminds me of the olson twin transformation....

in regards to the Raven Symone post. I love the Olson twins. No surprise there. I loved them on Full House and now I love their Elizabeth and James line. Let's take a look at their transformation... [EDIT: the pictures are backwards in order. I don't know why and I don't feel like fixing it. So just FYI.]

They went from Uncle Jesse to Wal-mart and now to high fashion. Now they are this...

Effing billionaires...

So we had the house cleaned today. I always feel such a sense of WOOSAHHHHH afterwards. Olivia won't take her afternoon nap but she can nap right through the vacuuming and the high-pitched Spanish chatter? No comprende. No se.

I don't know if I'm sick or if it's allergies. Woke up with a sore throat and now I am pretty stuffy with a runny nose. Olivia, too, has a runny nose and stuffiness (for about 3 days now). Let's pray we get better before Saturday.

Samsung Front Loader

I just noticed this sign on the bottom of the washer! It was gross but not awful.

Google Samsung front loader filter change and a YouTube video will show you how to do it.

Raven

Now here's a random entry. Remember this girl?

Raven Symone on the Cosby Show. She grew up and was a little on the heavier side.

But now she looks like this?!

How is this possible? Only in Hollywood. Her transformation reminds me of this one.

Do you know who it is? My favorite!

LOVE

OMG I am listening to what sounds like Olivia kicking her crib. I put her down drowsy, but awake and she is definitely, definitely still awake. NAP, CHILD!!!!!

I'm sitting her at my desk in the kitchen trying to be quiet as a church mouse. I'm scared to even get water thinking the sound of the water will wake her up more. Damn, Rocky just barked. EFFF.

So I'm just surfing the web. And decided to Google the Cartier LOVE bracelet. I've been wanting one of these for forever. Here's what wikipedia has to say about it.

The Love bracelet (styled L⊝Ve, with the horizontal line inside the letter "O" alluding to the bracelet's locking mechanism) is a famous piece of jewelry designed in 1969 by Aldo Cipullo for the French jeweler Cartier SA.

The bracelet quickly became popular for its provocative (and intentional resemblance in function to medieval chastity belts.

Cartier (as of 2009) continues to make the bracelets, and has since created other products based on the original bracelet's design, including cufflinks, rings, necklaces and watches, expanding the design into a jewelry line.

In June 2006, Cartier introduced the Love charity bracelet, a version consisting of a silk cord and a golden ring bearing the word LOVE. Cartier donates $150 from the sale of each bracelet to a variety of charities, each backed by a celebrity. The 2009 version of the charity bracelet was promoted by actress Eva Mendes.

Unlike traditional bracelets, which are either wide enough to slip them over the hand onto the wrist or can readily be opened in order to put them on, the Love bracelet is designed to be opened only using a special screwdriver that is supplied with every bracelet. The screwdriver is also available in the form of a necklace, allowing the bracelet to be "locked" onto one person while the "key" is kept around the neck of another as a symbol for their commitment to their relationship.

The screwdriver does not act as a secure key, however. The Love bracelet can actually be opened with any standard slotted screwdriver.

I did not know it was popular because it looked like a chastity belt??! HAHA. O well, I still love it. I like the gold or the rose gold. Here's a picture of my favorite Kardashian doubling up on her LOVE bracelets.

Prom

If I were a decade younger and going to prom, I'd hope to wear this dress worn by Jessica Stam at the MET Ball. I can't believe it's by Tommy Hilfiger.

Favorite Flower

What's your favorite flower? Mine are peonies and ranunculus. We have a peony bush about to bloom in our backyard. I'm afraid I'm going to miss it while we are away.

Bored

Waiting for Olive to wake up so we can go to the doctor's office to pick up her shot records.... In the meantime, I have stuffed my face with cold spaghetti. I love cold spaghetti.

I think we'll stop by the Farmer's Market at Van Dyk Park before we go to the doctor's.

My stomach hurts. Too much cold spaghetti.

Does anyone remember how I am UBER sensitive to caffeine? For some reason, i am no longer sensitive? I must be really tired?

Not the Same

I wonder how many diapers I've changed. And then I wonder how many diapers the Duggars have changed.

Big News Day

Osama is dead?!

Where were you when you heard the news? I was in bed and Facebook told me. Then I confirmed it on CNN.

Summarize

Hello Party People. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I sure did. Our last weekend in town before we go off on our West Coast adventure! Here's my weekend update...

Friday: Olivia went to Tysons to return several items that I ordered online. A few stuff for her from Old Navy and Gymboree. I ended up purchasing a few items for myself - a JLO-style hat, red linen romper and denim-ish shirt for Mr. Ho at Urban Outfitters, and a blouse, tank, and dress from H&M. It was a good shopping day. I don't cook on Fridays. We like to call it Sushi Friday because Mr. Ho gets me carryout sushi from Arigato almost every Friday. Yum.

Saturday: It was SUCH a beautiful day! We went grocery shopping in the morning and Mr. Ho decided he wanted to smoke pork in the BBQ. It takes ALLLLLL day but the end result is pure deliciousness. Jen and Jess swung by the house and we decided to go to Spa World! Spa World, for those who don't know, is a Korean Bathhouse. Ladies and Gentlemen have their separate locker rooms and bathing pools. You can get massages or scrubs. And you have to be butt-naked. You can join the opposite sex in the common area where they have these different huts of different temperatures and elements to sweat out your impurities. I really love it. I think we might try to do this on a regular basis.

Today: The weather was not as nice and it was quite the lazy Sunday. We ate brunch at Artie's and that's pretty much it. Mr. Ho is at football right now and I'm waiting for the laundry to dry so I can fold it. Today is also my mother's birthday and Olivia's 14th month!

My BFFF sent me this link the other day. It's someone's blog and it is HILARIOUS! I feel like DHuang sent it to me before but I forgot all about it. You guys should read it and have a big laugh.
