Japan

I just bought this off itunes. It is really good and for such a good cause. Continue to pray for the people of Japan. I perused through a pictures slideshow on CNN and shed a few tears. The destruction is just... unfathomable. Just because it disappears from the headlines doesn't mean its resolved.

Rolling in John Legend

John Legend cover. Yummy goodness.

LoveSong

This is one of my top 5 favorite songs. I love The Cure version but the 311 version is ok too. But Adele, I love you Adele. So beautiful.

The Mall

The contractor didn't come today so Olivia and I got out of the house. It was a gloomy, rainy day so the mall was our only option. We had lunch with Mr. Ho and then we did some shopping!

We bought:
-new shoes for Olivia. Only one pair bc the sales lady was a beeyotch.
-loccitane hand cream for my severely dry hands.
-rosebud salve. My fav! Love the smell.
-2 MAC eyeshadows
-MAC Lipglass, lipgloss, lipstick
-MAC Shadestick

I'm excited to try these new products! We didn't get any clothes. It's hard to buy spring stuff when it's so cold outside. Also, I think I'm in a style schlump.

We took a little break in one of the sitting areas and a white man sat across from us. He got on the phone and started to speak fluent Japanese! So cool.

Do kids these days still pass notes in school or is it all cell phones? I loved getting notes. LYLAS! KIT!

Housebound

We are finally getting work on the basement done. We are repainting everything, converting Danny's old room into a playroom, installing more recessed lighting, and installing a mini bar. I will post pictures once everything is settled! In the meantime, I can't really leave the house. So far, it's ok but I know I'll be going a little stir-crazy come Thursday or so.

Our ex-roomie OGDM is in Japan right now with his company iRobot. I'm so proud of him! The devastation is enormous and every little bit we can do to help makes an impact. I hate the news these days. Japan, Libya...

Olivia is doing great! I haven't really been updating this blog because I'm always posting new pictures of her on my tumblr account. My parents also both got iPhones so they are constantly texting me for new pictures of what she's doing at the moment. It was really frustrating trying to teach them how to use the phones via Skype. But I think they have the hang of it now. Some of their messages are kind of cryptic. For instance, I got a, "How is my sweaty doing today?" I'm pretty sure he meant me, his sweetie. Or Olivia, his main squeeze?

I don't think she will be walking anytime soon. She just is not too interested in standing on her own. She can cruise and she likes to climb on stuff, but walking on her own is kind of out of the question. Mr. Ho says he likes that she is somewhat immobile because it'll get 10x harder once she's on the move. But I'm eager to see her toddle around. I think it will just be so cute! I should buy her some shoes.

Weaning is..going, I guess. I've been dropping 5 minutes from my pumping sessions every 4 days. Right now, I'm at 5 minutes in the morning, 15 minute in the evening. I have noticed a huge decrease in my supply. Luckily, Olivia is doing ok on cow's milk so I mix whatever I pump with that. You will also find cabbage leaves poking out of my shirt these days because it helps with engorgement. I can't wait till this shiznit is over with. I am definitely going to treat myself to something after it is over with. Maybe a new pair of shoes? Mommy needs a new pair of shoes!

I'm going to doze a bit until the contractor gets here. He comes later and later every morning. Sheesh.

Why

Why do I like Hello Kitty now?

Why is weaning taking so long?

Why is Olivia's runny nose not going away?

I'm Back

On Facebook.
I mean, let's be real. Did you really think I could last THAT long?

Japan

I can't watch the Japan coverage. It is unbelievable and my worst nightmare. Earthquakes and tsunamis? I can't even...

One can only speculate why all of these natural disasters are occurring. It's definitely scary and makes me not want to have any more children.

Let's all pray for all the families and victims of this tragedy.

In Home

We never made it to Little Gym. Olivia woke up at 5 AM that day and then took a little snooze with me around 7 so it threw her schedule off completely. I don't think she is feeling her usual 100%. Her teeth are coming in and so I think it's causing a bit of pain. Poor bebe.

We are at home again today because it's my favorite day of the month! Cleaners are here!

Activities

I just registered Olivia for 8 Musikgarten classes at the new community center! It starts in April so I'm excited for that! We also have our free Little Gym class tomorrow. I hope she enjoys it. She needs to start acclimating herself to social situations. When she turns 18 months, I'm hoping to register her for dance classes :) Do you think I would be a stage mom? Oh yes, I can just see it now. Toddlers & Tiaras, here we come!

Facebook REdux

One day, I'll probably get back on Facebook. I sort of miss it. I have to say, it is a bit liberating not to be on it though. The "need" to check it all the time is diminishing.

Checking in

I'm just sitting here watching Real Housewives of Orange County. So far, I love Beverly Hills the best. I haven't attempted to watch Miami.

My husband is upstairs in bed. The poor man has food poisoning or something. He has been puking up a storm since this afternoon. Poor husband. I've never seen him get so sick before.

Today, I went to Tysons Corner with Miss Olivia. After doing what we needed to do, we went to the play area by the new food court. I just wanted Olivia to see other kids and tire herself out as well. She was in awe of everyone running around. She doesn't walk yet so she was holding onto this thing and cruising around. And like a bat out of hell, some kid just shoves her out of his way! he's about 4 years old? And he just has that rascal look! He's like "this is MINE!" I just didn't know what to do. I was about to shove him but I refrained. Picked up Olivia and looked for his mom, who, of course, was not paying any attention and just chatting away on her cell phone. He was a menace. I saw him push other kids as well. UGH. What are you supposed to do in that kind of situation? Talk to the parent? Talk to the kid? Ignore and walk away? Trip the kid on the way out?

I hope everyone has had a chance to check out our family website. I won't be posting pictures of Olivia on Facebook anymore. I don't care if anyone else does but I don't want to upkeep an album. There's too many people on Facebook. I actually deactivated my account last week. UGH!!! I was reading my newsfeed and I saw that someone did some "See who your stalkers are" app. And I showed up as number 2 with like 100+ hits for their page? NO. I am the first to admit who I stalk. I don't mind. But to be a stalker for someone who I would never stalk? Embarrassing. Anyway, please check out our family website for Olivia pictures!

My dad told me to get a "Baby on Board" sticker for my car! I never paid attention to those things before, but now I do notice. I don't think I can put that on my Range though. You know what I secretly like? Those little stickers that show how many members are in the family. They are like white stick figures? So cheesy though and again, would be be terrible on the Range. My friend told me, however, not to do stuff like that. Like put a, "My kid is an honor student blah blah blah" sticker on your bumper. Criminals will scout out victims based on things like that.

Now that Spring is around the corner, I've been thinking about what I should add to my wardrobe. I really want a pair of wedges and some bell-bottom jeans. I'm excited that those are coming back in style. I think it's a nice, relaxed afternoon look.

You know what? I could really use a vacation. Or a getaway. Watching these tanned, blonde, women in the sun is making me jealous.

Birthday #1

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVIA!!!!
A big one year old today... I can't believe it! What a special day!

Thank you to all who made it to her party and we missed all who couldn't be there! I think it turned out quite nicely! I didn't get to eat but I heard the food was good! For the doljabi, she touched the book first but my mom said it's what she picks up and holds. So she ended up with the toothbrush. Another Dr. Ho, DDS in the family perhaps? I'll be happy with that. I'll be happy as long as she's happy and healthy. I don't care what her career choice may be. (Ok, stripper or drug dealer or anything illegal is out of the question but you know what I mean.)

I don't have any pictures but as soon as I get my sneak peek from the photographer, I'll share!

Oh, today is day 1 of weaning as well. Let's see how long it takes for these suckers to dry up.

Anyway, everyone send good vibes into the universe today. It's a day to celebrate!
