Symptom Rundown

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! The last year of the decade is winding down. 10 years ago, I was waiting to graduate high school. 10 years later, I'm waiting for my first baby. I can't even believe it. Where did that time go?

Speaking of time, where did this pregnancy go? I am almost 29 weeks, right at the beginning of my THIRD trimester. Already! 7 months and just trimester away from holding my own little baby. I think I have bought everything I possibly can. I just have to go get some shampoo and lotion from Whole Foods. And we are waiting to buy the stroller since she'll be in the car seat for a bit. I'm just waiting on the furniture so I can shampoo the carpets and wash all her clothes to put in her dresser. Oh, I guess I still need a mirror. Damn it.

Sooo... I'd just like to put pregnancy in perspective. Looking back, the first trimester was a definite blur. I just remember hating how everything smelled. Throwing up. Gagging at everything - even while watching Top Chef? And definitely just laying down. Not being able to do anything for long periods of time because it was just exhausting.

Second trimester was fun. All the nausea went away. Food was absolutely DELICIOUS. The energy came back. Watching the belly grow was a lot of fun - wishing it would grow faster! I really don't think I started to show till the end of my 2nd trimester.

Now the third trimester has begun. And now this nervousness has set in. Am I ready to be a mommy? Well, I have no choice now, but you know what I mean. Am I prepared? A million "What If?" questions are flowing through my head. And let's talk about the SYMPTOMS. I hate Hollywood for making me think pregnancy was going to be glorious and glamorous. Let me tell you about what I've gone through and what every pregnant lady has gone through... I feel like mine hasn't been so bad because I'm not constipated or have hemmroids. Well, not yet anyway. EVERYONE KNOCK ON WOOD RIGHT NOW!

Ok, here are just a few symptoms I'm experiencing.

-swollen hands and feet
-sciatica pain in the leg and butt
-feeling of someone kicking you HARD in the vaj
-feeling like your vaj is going to fall out because of said kick in the vaj
-getting up 4-8 times in the night just to pee
-having the "need to pee" feeling with every baby movement, every sneeze, every laugh, every change in position
-can't get comfortable. ever.
-heartburn!
-my eyebrows apparently have gotten lighter, according to my mother.
-also noticed my mascara does not have the same effect on my lashes
-can't take any meds
-uncontrollable tooting :)
-feeling out of breath. even while just laying down and doing nothing
-extra body hair
-must use feet as hands because can't bend over as easily
-short term memory is SHOT
-belly button looks like an old lady's shriveled up mouth
-i swear, extra ear wax
-stuffy nose
-super sensitive gums. bleed like crazy when i floss

That's it for now. I can't think of anything else. And yet, I think I'd do it ALL OVER AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN :) I can't wait for Olivia. I can't wait.

Gotta go. What am I going to do? PEE!

Update

I haven't updated for almost a month!! Things have been going well. My mother is in town for a week for my baby shower, which was beautiful and amazing. It was the first snow of the year so it was a bit hectic and the roads were scary. But I definitely felt the loveeee <3>

Danny has officially moved out. His new bachelor pad is sweet. I think he is really loving being alone, especially since his girlfriend is in town for her entire winter break.

I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner! I am done all my shopping. Just gotta do some major wrapping. Well, Mr. Ho is still responsible for his parents' gifts, but I know he'll take care of it. Even if it is at the very last minute! Ha! That is my husband for you.

Olivia is doing well. Squirming away all the time. I had my glucose screen a few days ago. Ugh. That drink you drink beforehand made me feel so ill... I am only a few weeks away from entering my third trimester! It's insane!! I can't believe she will be here soon. Whenever I see parents holding their babies, I just can't wait to hold mine and love her. I am in a crazy nesting stage. I just cleaned out closets and drawers in our house. I feel so good, but so exhausted - the trappings of having such a large house, I guess. I just need to buy some stuff and I think I'm ready for her! Well, the furniture needs to get here though ... So much to do, so little time!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DHuang, EFitz, and my cousin Hana. December 17th is such a big birthday-day.

Toodles!
